As teachers who teach theory, we use a wide variety of technology and media to get the content across, most commonly we put together a power point presentation.
However, I find flipping a classroom most effective. The students are encouraged into gathering content and dissipating it amongst themselves. The result: a fun session and theory well-digested.
Here the students can be seen populating the whiteboard with information under respective buckets and discussing as they go. The high recall factor after active participation is what makes for an effecting learning session and students look forward to the next session.
